2015 OBB Site of the Year Award
United Way of Greater Stark County
The United Way of Greater Stark County demonstrated significant growth for the 2015 tax filing season. They implemented a number of creative ideas, including a filing day with a fun picnic atmosphere where tax clients were served lunch while their taxes were completed. In addition, they improved their public awareness campaign, promoting their OBB tax and benefits services and their MyBudget Coach program through advertising on Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) buses and several 30 minute radio interviews. This innovative approach helped them to complete 2750 Federal and State tax returns through OBB, an increase of 25% from the previous year. Their tax season volunteer base provided over 2,100 volunteer hours. Their clients accessed more than $1.86 million in potential tax refunds and credits during the 2015 tax season due to the incredible efforts of their staff and volunteers. Accepting the 2015 OBB Site of the Year award on behalf of the United Way of Greater Stark County are Director of Financial Stability Initiatives, Robin Seemann and VITA Coordinator Chrisann Leaman.
